The story was published in the literary supplement to the magazine “Fantastika”, and was also included in the collection “In the company of Mikhalych” and in the collection “Catching Dead End”. Before publishing “The Catching Dead End,” I edited the text, moving the action from the Gorbachev era of 1990 to a later time. A funny story associated with this story: some readers seriously believed that near the Volkov cemetery there is a pond in which a fellow dinosaur lives the famous Loch Ness monster.
