“Sakhalin Island” is a paraphrase of Chekhov, whom Eduard Verkin reverently reveres, and a magnificent post-apocalypse, and an excellent adventure novel that you can’t tear yourself away from, and a tender love story, and a sad tale of lost hope. The book will not leave indifferent either connoisseurs of classical literature or fans of Stanislav Lem and the Strugatsky brothers. It has adventures, action, unpredictable plot twists, but there are also complex futurological designs, philosophical discussions, and, of course, a sad story of true love, like all real things.
