Empty megacities with a population of millions are deservedly considered the most dangerous places on the planet, because they have become breeding grounds for a monstrous epidemic of tachyginesis, which has struck the very essence of life - organic molecules. The embodiment of human fears and vices has found a new, truly devilish guise, whose name is necromorphs. Neither alive nor dead, devoid of the fear of death and the joy of life, they are those who convert others like themselves, and until now there has been no force capable of resisting them. The island of Shikotan, which has become a refuge for refugees from the Primorsky Territory, is a long-suffering land soaked blood and fear. Ten years after the great exodus from the continent, the few survivors are trying to establish a normal life, but even at the ends of the earth they are haunted by the ghosts of the past. Special forces commander Dmitry Aleshin, participating in raids to search for and destroy necromorphs, has long lost hope for a successful outcome in the war and is full of bitter disappointment with his own fate. He has a secret that threatens him with death if they find out about it, but his fate changes in the most radical way, preparing for him the most unusual and fateful mission that could ever befall a person. One day, a distress signal received by the island's radio stations from the ruins of the long-abandoned Vladivostok will forever change his entire previous life, as well as the future of all humanity.
