Автор майстерно передає відчуття страху та тривоги, які супроводжують героя, коли він намагається зрозуміти, що сталося з ним після аварії. Його боротьба з психопатом, який пов'язує їхні розуми, стає символом внутрішньої боротьби кожної людини з власними страхами та темрявою. Незважаючи на деякі недоліки в перекладі, які можуть відволікати, сама історія настільки захоплююча, що це не заважає насолоджуватися читанням.
