Інспектор Вексфорд, з його досвідом і мудрістю, стає ідеальним провідником у цю заплутану справу, де кожен новий поворот розкриває нові грані людської природи. Особливо вразила глибина персонажів, їхні переживання та мотивації. Повернення до справи Пейнтера через багато років додає історії додаткового драматизму та емоційної напруги.
