Adaptation by Tatyana Ufimtseva, based on John Sing's play “A Daring Fellow, the Pride of the West.” The original work, written at the beginning of the 20th century, describes life in a remote province, where the inhabitants live in two worlds at once: in one they humbly drag out their gray monotonous existence, in the other they long for a bright life and cannot come to terms with the fact that day after day cloud-paradise floats away. Hesitant to change anything in their own lives, they sublimate the accumulated tension and transfer their collective unconscious dream to a randomly chosen hero.
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
