The book includes field diaries of submariners who participated in breaking the US naval blockade of the island of Cuba in 1962, as well as stories of participants in secret operations - commanders of strategic nuclear submarines, commanders of flotillas and fleets. The book opens another page in the chronicle of Russia's "hidden fleet", full of drama and courage of Soviet submarine sailors.

Автор, Микола Черкашин, який сам служив на підводних човнах, майстерно передає атмосферу таємниці і напруження, які супроводжували кожен вихід на бойову службу. Читач має можливість зануритися в похідні щоденники підводників, що робить текст живим і реалістичним. Особливо вразили розповіді учасників секретних операцій, які розкривають мужність та відвагу радянських моряків у часи холодної війни. Книга не лише інформативна, але й емоційно насичена, що дозволяє глибше зрозуміти історію підводного флоту СРСР. Хоча переклад тексту має деякі недоліки, загальне враження від книги залишається надзвичайно позитивним. Рекомендую всім, хто цікавиться військовою історією та морськими пригодами!
