Harris' 1788 List of Ladies of Covent Garden, or Calendar of Pleasures for Men, is a unique document of its time, providing information on the women who provided their services in the London quarter of Covent Garden. This eccentric monument to the social history of Great Britain contained reviews and recommendations about various prostitutes and temptresses of the time. The author of this "Calendar of Pleasures" was an anonymous publicist who created this book to satisfy the pathological needs of his audience.
