James Hadley Chase (real name Rene Brabazon Raymond) is the author of more than eighty detective novels. J. H. Chase is a master of the “open” detective story, in which the reader is not confronted with the fact of committing a crime, but step by step participates in its preparation. The eleventh volume of the Collected Works includes three novels: “The Vulture is a Patient Bird” - about the theft of the ring Borgia, “The Innocent Killer” - about the adventures of an American who lived illegally in Italy, “An Extra Ace in the Hole” - the story of the wife of an old millionaire: “The Vulture is a patient bird” (“The Vulture Is a Patient Bird”, 1969); “The Innocent killer" (“The Wary Transgressor”, 1952); “An extra ace in the hole” (“An Ace Up My Sleeve”, 971) (Helga Rolf - 1). Чудовий детектив, який захоплює з перших сторінок!
Книга "З/с. Том 11" від Джеймса Хедлі Чейза - це справжнє задоволення для любителів детективного жанру. Автор, відомий своєю майстерністю в створенні інтригуючих сюжетів, знову вражає читача своєю здатністю занурити його у світ злочинів і розслідувань. У цій частині ми спостерігаємо за захоплюючими пригодами американця, який живе в Італії, і його боротьбою з підступними обставинами. Чейз вміло веде читача через всі етапи злочину, дозволяючи відчути себе частиною розслідування. Хоча деякі фрази в перекладі можуть бути трохи незрозумілими, це не псує загального враження від книги. Я б рекомендував цю книгу всім, хто цінує якісні детективи з непередбачуваними поворотами сюжету!
