James Hadley Chase (real name Rene Brabazon Raymond) is the author of more than eighty detective novels. J. H. Chase is a master of the “open” detective story, in which the reader is not confronted with the fact of committing a crime, but step by step participates in its preparation. The fifth volume includes two of Chase’s novels from the Italian cycle - “Mission to Venice”, “Mission to Siena" and the novel "Dead Man's Wig" about young smugglers: "Mission To Venice", 1954 (Don Micklem - 1); "Dead Man's Wig" ("There's A Hippie On The Highway", 1970) (Paradise City, Frank Terrell - 5); "Mission To Siena", 1955 (Don Micklem - 2). Translation: N. Krasnoslobodsky
