Arthur Weigall, a famous English Egyptologist, in his book traces the history of Ancient Egypt during the reign of the pharaohs of the XII-XVIII dynasties. Based on data obtained during the reconstruction of the inscription on the Palermo stone and the deciphering of the Turin papyrus, Weigall builds a new chronology of the events of the period described. Using artefacts and surviving texts, Weigall provides insight into the lifestyle, culture and traditions of the Egyptians. Of particular interest is the oldest literary work included in this work - “The Wanderings of Sinuhet”, the action of which takes place during the reign of the pharaohs of the XII dynasty Amenemhet I and Senusret I.

Книга Артура Вейгалла "Великі правителі Стародавнього Єгипту" є справжнім скарбом для всіх, хто цікавиться єгиптологією та історією. Автор детально аналізує правління фараонів XII–XVIII династій, спираючись на реконструкцію давніх написів і розшифровку археологічних знахідок. Його нова хронологія подій відкриває нові горизонти у розумінні стародавньої цивілізації, а опис способу життя, культури та традицій єгиптян дозволяє читачеві зануритися в атмосферу тієї епохи. Особливо захоплюючим є включення "Мандрів Синухета", яке додає літературного контексту та глибини до історії. Хоча переклад тексту за допомогою штучного інтелекту іноді містить незначні недоліки, загальна якість роботи вражає. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто хоче краще зрозуміти велич Стародавнього Єгипту та його правителів!
