Arthur Weigall, a famous English Egyptologist, in his book traces the history of Ancient Egypt during the reign of the pharaohs of the XII-XVIII dynasties. Based on data obtained during the reconstruction of the inscription on the Palermo stone and the deciphering of the Turin papyrus, Weigall builds a new chronology of the events of the period described. Using artefacts and surviving texts, Weigall provides insight into the lifestyle, culture and traditions of the Egyptians. Of particular interest is the oldest literary work included in this work - “The Wanderings of Sinuhet”, the action of which takes place during the reign of the pharaohs of the XII dynasty Amenemhet I and Senusret I.
