The author of the book “Conspiracy of Satan,” Igor Vasilyevich Bely (Georgy Petrovich Zherebchikov), army general, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, went through a long, complex and difficult path from an ordinary counterintelligence officer to the top leader of a special special operational analytical service of the USSR. A scientist-historian, Doctor of Philosophy and Historical Sciences, in this story, written from documentary materials, he reveals to the reader events that are little known or generally unknown, hidden and classified by the intelligence services. By highlighting, analyzing and summarizing the facts, the author creates a real picture of historical events in which it was unique meetings, negotiations, episodes that became key in the turns of history, in preventing the threat of the Third World War that was actually brewing repeatedly. The book shows the tireless, selfless and responsible work of Soviet counterintelligence officers in the USSR and abroad. The author convincingly emphasizes his international, humane positions, reminding the reader that in our harsh world, “good must come with fists.” Based on stolen and distorted fragments of the manuscript of this book, and in individual publications, certain forces tried to accuse the author of “The Satanic Conspiracy” of nationalism, in anti-Semitism, however, it is precisely against this, against nationalist ideas and organizations of various kinds, against interethnic conflicts that the author’s work, and the meaning and content of this book are directed. Unique in its content and essence, the documentary story “The Conspiracy of Satan” will undoubtedly find responses in hearts of numerous readers. Note from the flooded. Dear friends. It is no coincidence that I classified this book as an alternative history genre. Despite such a formidable annotation and the author’s constant emphasis on the documentary nature of his work, those who read it will see for themselves that the famous stories of Baron Karl-Friedrich-Hieronymus von Munchausen, in comparison with what is told in it, are real strictly documentary reports of the General Staff. I have been for a very long time I wanted to introduce this book to our library readers. Glad I finally succeeded. I will be even more glad if it adds as many fun minutes to you as it does to me.
