Viktor Petrovich Astafiev (1924–2001) is a writer, a classic of Russian literature. Continuing the traditions of Korolenko and Shishkov, he with unusually vivid force reflects in his work the powerful essence and nature of the Siberian taiga, draws images of Siberians - hunters, fishermen. This was most clearly manifested in the narrative “The Fish Tsar”, the autobiographical novel “The Last Bow”, stories, in “Zatesy”. A series of notes “From the new “Zatesy”” was published in the anthology “Hunting Spaces” No. 1 for 1994. p>
