After the events described in the Marvel film Captain America: Civil War, King T'Challa returns home to Wakanda, a remote but technologically advanced African state. The young man prepares to become the new leader of his people, but finds that he will still have to compete for the throne with some of his compatriots. When two of T'Challa's enemies unite to destroy Wakanda, the tribe's hero known as the Black Panther, with allies in the form of a CIA agent Everett K. Ross and members of the country's elite guard are forced to take drastic measures to prevent Wakanda from being drawn into a world war. The publication includes an additional story that was not included in the film "Black Panther".
