Set some years before the Thief-Taker's Apprentice, the Thief-Taker's Blade is the story of how Syannis, the thief-taker of Deephaven, came to own the soul-cutting Knife of Eyes. A novelette fleshing out a little more backstory to the world of thief-takers and dragons.
