This publication is the second book of memoirs of the famous German military leader Field Marshal Erich von Manstein, author of the famous memoirs “Lost Victories.” The book tells the story of von Manstein's life and work in the period between the two world wars, especially his participation in the revival of German military power. The author cites in his memoirs a number of little-known historical facts and expresses many original opinions about the most important historical events of the pre-war period.
