The thirteenth and fourteenth volumes of the works of S.M. Solovyov’s “History of Russia from Ancient Times” is dedicated to the time, which, according to the author’s concept, was the boundary of the two largest stages in the historical development of the Russian state. Volume thirteen analyzes the state of Russia in the 17th century; in the fourteenth, a general description of the transformations of Peter I is given.
