Burgess Brothers

(including for Apple and Android)
After the death of their father, Jim and Bob Burgess are forced to leave their hometown - each of them experiences the tragedy in their own way, it is difficult for them to look into the eyes of others and each other. The brothers' lives develop differently: Jim becomes a successful and famous lawyer. And Bob, modest and reserved, remains in the shadow of his older brother. Years pass, and the brothers have to return to their hometown, where the shadows of the past live, where those fears from which they seemed to be able to escape flare up with renewed vigor. In this novel, as in the famous “Olivia Kitteridge,” Elizabeth Strout managed to brilliantly show how deep the human soul is and how much there is in it that we are afraid to admit to ourselves.
