Автор, Володимир Дайнес, майстерно поєднує об'єктивні історичні факти з емоційною складовою, що дозволяє глибше зрозуміти не лише особистість Жукова, а й драматизм того часу. Використання унікальних архівних матеріалів, багато з яких публікуються вперше, додає книзі особливої цінності.
