The memoirs of the outstanding writer and journalist of the Russian diaspora, Zinaida Alekseevna Shakhovskaya, cover almost half a century - from 1910 to 1950. The era that the author writes about absorbed the most tragic social upheavals and breakdowns of the past century. A witness to two world wars, a revolution, and the exodus of Russian emigration, Shakhovskaya left truthful, vivid and brilliantly written memories. The memoirs were published in French from 1964 to 1967 in four separate books under the general subtitle “Such is my century.” The Russian translation of the memoirs, combined into one edition, is published for the first time.
