This adventure story by Vsevolod Nestaiko, published in 1982, was first translated into Russian. In it, the author talks about the school life of Styopa Nalivaiko, who came to Kyiv from the village, about his friends from the sixth “B” and fantastic journeys into the past and future together with his older friend Chuck, an old clown and wizard. Thanks to Styopa and the restless spirit of the Cossack ancestors living in his soul, the reader gets the opportunity to see Kyiv in different historical eras, starting from the time of Yaroslav the Wise and ending with the twentieth century.
