Ця книга є відмінним путівником для тих, хто цікавиться історією укріплень і фортець. Автор вдало поєднує наукові факти з доступним викладом, що робить матеріал зрозумілим навіть для юних читачів. Еволюція фортифікаційних споруд, описана в книзі, дозволяє зрозуміти, як змінювались військові технології та архітектурні підходи протягом століть. Особливо вражає різноманітність типів укріплень, про які йдеться, та їх роль у захисті територій. Хоча текст перекладено за допомогою штучного інтелекту, загалом якість перекладу досить висока, і лише в окремих випадках зустрічаються незначні недоліки.
