Gerwart Walden (1878–1941) was a German gallerist and founder of the international art movement “Sturm”, who lived in Moscow in the 1930s. In the first Russian biography of Walden, his activities are interpreted in the light of modern ideas about curating and curatorial practices. The publication includes polemical articles and essays by Walden in defense of the new art, translated into Russian for the first time. Reproductions of works of art from the magazine “Storm” published by Walden were used as illustrative material.
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program.
