Старший капітан Маркус Д'Івуар, який намагається знайти сенс у своєму існуванні, та Вінтер Ігернгласс, що ховається під маскою чоловіка, створюють динамічний дует, чия взаємодія наповнена емоціями та напругою. Автор майстерно передає атмосферу безвиході та надії, а також інтригує читача елементами магії, які додають сюжету особливого шарму.
