Книга "Нові сповіді" Вільяма Бойда – це справжній шедевр, який занурює читача в дивовижний світ Джона Джеймса Тодда, одного з найбільш недооцінених геніїв двадцятого століття. Автор майстерно поєднує автобіографічні елементи з вигаданими подіями, створюючи яскравий портрет героя, чия доля сповнена тривог, амбіцій та неймовірних злетів і падінь. Від його важкого дитинства до жахів війни, а потім до блискучого, але водночас і трагічного життя в Голлівуді – кожен етап життя Тодда описано з такою деталізацією та емоційною глибиною, що читач відчуває себе частиною цієї історії. Бойд вміло грає з часом, розкриваючи не лише зовнішні обставини, а й внутрішні переживання героя. Хоча переклад тексту не завжди ідеальний, це не заважає насолоджуватися чудовою історією.
