«Рік потопу» - це ще одне яскраве свідчення таланту Маргарет Етвуд, яка вміє створювати світи, що змушують задуматися про важливі питання сучасності. Книга занурює читача в дистопічний світ, де генна інженерія стала нормою, а людство стоїть на межі катастрофи. Етвуд майстерно малює картини суспільства, де зберегти різноманіття живої природи стає справжнім викликом. Персонажі, зокрема дівчина-хустка, є яскравими і запам'ятовуються, їхні історії переплітаються в складний і захоплюючий сюжет.
