Thirty years after civilization collapsed, the descendants of the survivors are trying to preserve what little remains of man's former greatness. They have to fight huge swarms of mutants and find meager food to avoid starvation. Most communities face inevitable savagery, so those who do not agree to meekly submit to fate set off on a risky journey to the south. Maxim, a resident of one of the dying settlements, will have to prove to himself and his comrades that he is capable of challenging the cruel world, and make sure that no weapon can help anyone who is not worthy to carry it.
