Forest Trans-Volga region stretches from Nizhny Novgorod to the Kostroma region and the Republic of Mari El. The bright Volga banks, dense taiga forests, mysterious lakes and rivers keep many legends and fairy tales of the peoples living here - Russians, Maris, Mordovians, Tatars.
