Я дізнався багато нового про відомі історичні постаті, такі як Юстиніан і Феодора, Микола II та Олександра, а також про їхні стосунки, які часто виявлялися складними і суперечливими. Стиль викладу автора легкий і зрозумілий, що дозволяє зануритися в історію без зайвих зусиль. Хоча в тексті є деякі недоліки в перекладі, це не заважає загальному враженню від книги.
