Автор майстерно відтворює атмосферу політичних інтриг, зрад і боротьби за владу, що панувала в той час. Сюжет зосереджується на долі маленького Геракла, сина Олександра, який опиняється в епіцентрі жорстоких подій. Мелеагр, як символ зради та амбіцій, стає катастрофічною фігурою, яка змінює життя багатьох. Книга не лише захоплює своєю динамікою, але й змушує задуматися про цінність життя, спадок і те, як історія може змінити долі людей.
