The book “Give the Cat Your Word” consists of stories and novellas written at different times and in different genres, but it is unified in thought and composition. The image of the heroine runs through the entire book, having found her calling quite early, which she managed to carry through all her life. If at the beginning of the book - in the story "Rain" - a ninth-grader is shown in whom her creative beginning is just awakening, then in subsequent stories and tales the "special vision" of the heroine is revealed. Her observations are always unique because they are personal. Due to her specialty (the heroine is a biologist), she observes everything that happens around: in the forest, in the river, in the clearing and at home. And there is a cat at home. First one, then the second. The stories about these two cats, Uta and Kota, are stories, on the one hand, of an ordinary cat lover, and on the other hand, a close observation of a biologist, at first unconscious, then more and more aimed at penetrating into the depths of the life of the animal that lives nearby and which you can know and study.
