Description of the world of Styx from Artem Kamenisty. The idea of the “Styx” series originated during the development of a computer game. There is practically no gaming component left in it, although some elements are similar to elements of the LitRpg genre (something like leveling up heroes, developing skills, obtaining loot). In this form, the series, albeit with a stretch in places, can be classified as a survival horror genre (classic and unorthodox representatives of the genre, in games: The Last of Us, Rust, DayZ; in films and TV series: almost everything in the spirit of director Romero, that is, “28 days later”, “I am a legend”; in the books: “Feed”, “The Fifth Wave”).
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
