Lieutenant of the Russian Army Maxim Baranov has already managed to fight in “hot spots”, and was wounded, and settled “in the rear”, where, out of boredom, he became interested in military-historical reconstruction. But on the next field trip, an emergency happened - having drunk to the point of amazement with his comrades, the lieutenant woke up in a trench under howitzer fire. And nearby were Russian soldiers in the uniform of the Russian Imperial Army. They enlightened Baranov, mistaking him for a shell-shocked officer who was in the corps of General Samsonov, around East Prussia, the end of August 1914 - the beginning of the First World War. Having taken command of a handful of frightened and confused soldiers, Maxim begins what he was taught in the RVDU named after Margelov, a raid on the German rear.
