Автор майстерно передає атмосферу 990-го року, занурюючи читача у життя молодої дівчини Ягода, яка, зіштовхнувшись із зрадою, вирішує укласти угоду з нечистою силою. Цей крок відкриває перед нею нові можливості, але водночас і несе страшні наслідки. Ягода стає символом боротьби за власну ідентичність та свободу, а її переродження кожні 45 років додає глибини та інтриги сюжету. Хоча текст книги був перекладений за допомогою штучного інтелекту, загалом він читається легко, хоча іноді трапляються не зовсім коректні фрази.
