The action takes place in our days. This is a story about two friends - Volodya Semenov and Kostya Lugansky. Kostya is a rower who aspires to join the national team, but he suddenly develops problems with his leg that are so serious that he cannot walk normally. In his home provincial town they cannot help him in any way, and he is forced to go to St. Petersburg. Volodya is engaged in translations of texts, lives for his own pleasure and is slowly going to visit a relative in Cannes: to relax and, if possible, earn some more money.
