In an ancient city on the planet Harmony, where professional ghost hunters and ephemeral energy "fixers" are needed to neutralize the danger in the ruins of ancient settlements, para-archaeologist Lydia Smith's career is ruined when she falls into an "illusion trap" and gets an injury that experts say makes her too vulnerable for further field work. To everyone's surprise, Lydia gets a temporary job at a seedy museum called Shrimpton's House of Ancient Horrors and, with the help of her para-resonator abilities, in which she is personally more confident than ever, begins to develop her private consultation. During an interview with a potential client, the mysterious handsome Emmett London, she discovers the body of her colleague in one of the museum sarcophagi. Lydia, who has fallen under suspicion, must find out the circumstances of his death and at the same time deal with Emmett's problems and her attraction to him.
