The book is compiled from the works of Konstantin Leontyev (monk Clement; 1831–1891) of moral, ascetic and spiritual-political content, which outlines his views on issues of church unity, the religious foundations of national life and relations between fraternal Orthodox peoples. Leontyev’s views are especially valuable and significant, since for many years he carried out state diplomatic service among Christians of the Orthodox East, and as a Christian and thinker he was formed under the direct influence of the great Athonite elders - ascetics and spiritual leaders. Compiled by monk Arseny (Svyatogorsky).
