The book talks about the figure of the protagonist's opposite double in literature and cinema - a figure who decisively influences the fate of the hero and, thanks to this, plays a plot-forming role. To determine who exactly is such a figure in a particular work, you need to trace on which character (his appearance, his actions, the events that happen to him) several characteristic features converge to form a bundle. This amazingly repeating set of signs (the identification of which is the main part of the work) is united by a common principle: the antipodean double is something like a door through which the tested hero enters death (thus either stopping or changing his life). Numerous illustrations and footnotes accompanying the book are, in most cases, not just visual or supporting material, but its ramifications into a mini-essay. The publishing layout of the book is saved in PDF A4 format.

The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
