From the publisherNovel “What have you heard about the war?” the famous French writer Robert Bober consists of separate stories held together by end-to-end characters. Its main characters are workers of a sewing workshop on Rue de Turenne, each of whom lost loved ones in the tragedy of the Holocaust and miraculously survived the Nazi concentration camps. However, Bober avoids the temptation of flashy heartbreaking scenes; the characters in the novel talk not about the horrors and death they experienced, but about human participation , about life and its joys: amateur theater, cinema, homemade jam. Each page of the book breathes the air of France in the late forties.
