We present to the attention of readers the first Russian translation of the world-famous book by A.F. Herald, who summarized the enormous number of traditions, legends and parables about Buddha that have reached us. In addition, the book includes a lecture by S.F. Oldenburg's "The Life of the Buddha, the Indian Teacher of Life" and the "Vajrachchedika Prajnaparamita Sutra", known in Europe as the "Diamond Sutra", which belongs to the most revered Buddhist texts, as well as an essay on the Buddha by K.M. Karjakin.
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
