The personal composition of the elite part of the court, its structure and connection with the administrative apparatus of the state are comprehensively considered; the struggle of court factions and family ties within the elite are covered; political portraits of the most significant representatives of the court elite are given; the activities of the huge palace economy and the cultural and everyday features of court life are revealed.
