The author of these memoirs is one of the Leningrad poets of Anna Akhmatova’s circle, which also included Joseph Brodsky, Anatoly Naiman and Evgeny Rein. By the seventies, which are discussed in the book, this group had already broken up, but the narrator, still an unofficial poet, still strives for recognition and, not wanting to give up his inner freedom, tries to develop his own literary strategy. In his new book, Dmitry Bobyshev talks about meetings with friends and contemporaries - underground poets, nonconformist artists, political dissidents, famous beauties of that time... The names mentioned in the book, some very famous, others undeservedly forgotten, are presented in characteristic gestures, dialogues, portrait sketches, letters and dramatic scenes.
