The life of Mikhail Semenovich Krasnov and his Cossack ancestors is very similar to the novel. But for such a novella, in which heroism, perseverance and self-sacrifice extend their branches into modern history. Meanwhile, very little-known events take place in this story, since there are political forces interested in their non-exposure and concealment. The birth of our officer in Lienz and his subsequent arrival in Chile, in itself, has a lot of incredible and fateful things. No less incredible are the legal charges brought against the captive Brigadier General M.S. Krasnov.
