Note: Some of the translations were made for the first time. The author of E. Tabb's story "The Ship Must Take Off at Dawn" is erroneously listed as R. Sheckley. Frederick Wallace's story "The Apprentice" is given in an abridged translation. The translation of the story "The Red Pattern" in the book is erroneously attributed to V. Kubichev (actually a translation by Evgeniy Kubichev) .
