The memoirs of A. A. Gromyko, who was for a long time a member of the Politburo of the CPSU Central Committee, Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the USSR, cover more than half a century. The author talks about meetings with government and public figures, about events that he witnessed or participated in, about the countries where he lived and worked. In the new edition, the author significantly expanded the materials on Stalin, Khrushchev, Konev, Kuznetsov, and significantly expanded the coverage of a number of historical events (the Caribbean crisis and some others). The book gives a broad idea of the foreign policy of the USSR. Many judgments and assessments of the author of the memoirs reflect his personal point of view. A. A. Gromyko completed work on the two-volume book on June 19, 1989. He died on July 2 of the same year.

Книга "Пам'ятне" - це неймовірно цінний мемуар, який відкриває завісу над важливими подіями та особистостями, з якими автор, А. А. Громико, мав честь зустрічатися протягом своєї кар'єри. Його спогади про роботу в Політбюро ЦК КПРС, а також про зовнішню політику СРСР, надають читачеві унікальну можливість заглянути в закулісся історії. Громико не лише описує факти, але й ділиться своїми думками та оцінками, що робить текст ще більш живим і цікавим.
