The book by Polish political scientist Jan Tomasz Gross tells about one of the most difficult episodes in Polish history - the Jewish pogrom in the small town of Jedwabne in July 1941. After the war, the participants in the pogrom were tried, but they got off with relatively mild punishments. And only thanks to Gross’s book, Polish society was able to understand the horror of the terrible crime committed sixty years ago.

The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program.
