“Grub” is a book-protest of a “man from the crowd” against endless social experiments and experiences that represent an unprovoked attack on human dignity and quality of life. This is a collection of stories and recipes, mostly funny, about what and how to eat. All these stories are divided into three parts: “Fish”, “Meat”, “Neither fish nor meat”. The text was written by a professional scientist, but unprofessionally and unevenly: either exquisitely elegant restaurant passages, then rude catering sarcasm, then good-natured home humor - life is varied and, fortunately, absurd, which helps us to learn at least something and understand at least something. The book is intended for a narrow circle of readers who have not lost their appetite and taste for life. Wide layers of vegetarians, fasting people, food professionals at receptions and official dinners, workers in the private and especially public catering sector, as well as nutritionists are asked not to worry.
