Knowledge in the field of ancient religious rites, their way of life, traditions, linguistic subtleties that have a sacred meaning, and a comparison of seemingly insignificant facts allow A. Alford to interpret in his own way the views prevailing in modern science. However, the author warns the reader that in order to understand his position, one must accept the way of thinking of the ancients.
