Автор майстерно передає атмосферу сучасної Шотландії, наповнюючи її таємницями та магією, що робить читання захоплюючим. Я була вражена, як глибоко розкриті персонажі, їхні страхи та бажання, змушують читача співпереживати їм. Хоча переклад тексту іноді має незначні недоліки, це не заважає насолоджуватися історією.
